Oasis reunion: here’s what we know

The wait is over, Oasis, the band that helped define a generation of British music and gave the world anthems like Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, and Live Forever, is officially reuniting for a global tour kicking off this July.

For over 15 years, the thought of Liam and Noel Gallagher sharing a stage again seemed near impossible. The brothers’ famously volatile relationship had fans believing a reunion was more myth than possibility. But in a surprise announcement that shocked the music world, the Gallaghers have temporarily buried the hatchet to bring Oasis Live ’25 to life.

This marks the first time the original Oasis frontmen have performed together under the band’s name since their explosive split in 2009. And judging by the early buzz, it could go down as one of the biggest musical comebacks of the 21st century.

Here’s everything we know.

The Big Announcement

In August 2024, Oasis announced their plans for a massive reunion tour, timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of their iconic debut album, Definitely Maybe. The album remains a cornerstone of 1990s British music, launching the band into superstardom.

The tour is scheduled to kick off on the 4th July 2025 in Cardiff at the Principality Stadium and will run through to the 23rd November 2025, ending in São Paulo, Brazil. The tour includes 41 stadium shows across the UK, Ireland, Europe, North America, Asia, Australia, and South America.

Rather than promoting new music, the tour is focused purely on the band’s greatest hits, a chance for long-time fans and a new generation alike to hear the classics live.

Tour Dates: The UK and Ireland

The UK and Ireland leg of the tour will take place throughout July 2025, with shows in major cities and some of the most iconic venues on the circuit:

  • 4th July- Cardiff, Principality Stadium
  • 7–8th July- Manchester, Heaton Park
  • 12–13th July- London, Wembley Stadium
  • 16th July- Glasgow, Hampden Park
  • 19th July- Edinburgh, Murrayfield
  • 22nd July- Dublin, Croke Park

After these initial shows, the band will head across Europe in August, North America and Asia in September and October, before wrapping up in Brazil in November.

Ticket demand was enormous. Presale registration saw millions sign up within days of the announcement, and the first run of UK shows sold out within hours. In response, additional dates were added at several venues to meet overwhelming demand. Resale prices for premium seats have since soared, with many fans eager to secure a spot at what’s being dubbed the musical event of the year.

No New Music

The tour will centre around the music that made Oasis a household name. Fans can expect a hit-packed setlist including songs from Definitely Maybe, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, Be Here Now, and more.

With no new album accompanying the tour, the focus remains firmly on nostalgia, legacy, and giving fans a chance to experience the band’s classics performed live by the original frontmen. From anthems like Live Forever and Supersonic to stadium singalongs like Wonderwall, this is a tour that’s all about the music Oasis built their name on.

Support Acts

For the UK and Ireland dates, Oasis will be joined by Richard Ashcroft, the former frontman of The Verve. His inclusion as the support act adds another layer of 1990s nostalgia, with his own catalogue of iconic tracks providing the perfect warm-up for fans.

Ticket Chaos

As expected, demand for tickets has been through the roof. On the day of general release, ticketing platforms such as Ticketmaster and See Tickets were flooded with traffic. Long virtual queues and website crashes were reported as fans scrambled to secure their place at the shows.

Despite strict measures in place, ticket resales began appearing almost immediately at hugely inflated prices. Wembley and Manchester dates have seen resale tickets listed in the four-figure range, a testament to just how high demand remains.

Streaming data also reflects the buzz around the reunion. Oasis’ biggest hits have surged up the charts, with albums like Definitely Maybe and (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? returning to the UK Top 40. Vintage merchandise has spiked in popularity, and a whole new wave of tribute nights and fan events has cropped up across the country in celebration of the band’s return.

Will This Be the Last Time?

Although many fans are hoping this reunion will lead to more dates or even new material in the future, current messaging from the band’s camp is clear, Live ’25 is a one-off. This tour is positioned as a standalone moment in time, designed to honour the past rather than reignite a permanent future for the band.

Liam and Noel Gallagher’s relationship, while thawed enough to bring them back on stage together, remains complex. This makes the current reunion more special, and uncertain. As it stands, there are no guarantees of future tours or albums beyond 2025, which only adds to the urgency and emotion surrounding this summer’s events.
