As a very regular traveller I read about John and his fantastic tours in an airline magazine. I was going to be in the Manchester area, so I decided to arrange a tour. I sent an email to his website and almost immediately my phone rang – it was John who straight away came over as a friendly and informed person.
John explained the kind of things that could be covered on a tour and we discussed suitable times and days of the week for a tour. We agreed on a Sunday morning at 10:00 as the traffic would be light.
As I am a music fanatic I asked for a number of places connected to the Manchester music scene to be included in the tour.
On the day of the tour John collected us from our town centre hotel. He was bag on time (early in fact). We promptly set off on our journey with a constant steam of information about the city.
I got all my ‘must see’ locations in like the Salford Lads Club, the Hacienda site, Night and Day, Media City and various other band related locations. We also got an informed view of the industrial history and full tour of the two soccer clubs and their facilities, an old manor house and so much more – too much for this brief account.
The real beauty of the tours is that you can do exactly what you want; John is very knowledgeable and passionate about his wonderful city.
Quite honestly it is the best tour I have ever had – you will not be disappointed!
